A love note to my babe...

Have I said how much I love you lately?

I just went out to the Anse Chastanet website for another look around.

This is going to be wonderful. I am so excited and thrilled to have the opportunity to go, more importantly, to be able to go there with you.

I love you so much.

We are going to have a wonderful time.

I get so caught up in the daily worries and concerns about my job, or lack thereof... or getting ready for Christmas, or being depressed about not being strong enough to lose more weight faster... and then I get your e-mail about vacation.

I open the pictures in the message, but it's just pictures. A fantasy.

I go on about my day, go talk to a couple people. Come back and have another e-mail. I start cleaning out my inbox and sent mail and before deleting open another picture again. I decide to save it to my desktop as the wall paper. More than that... I tile it across my desktop as wall paper.

Then I get to thinking about what other pictures are on the website and decide to go for a visit. I click a couple links, looking at some of the pictures and all of a sudden my world changes.

I remember that in less than six weeks, I am actually going to be standing right there on that beach. That picture will be my reality. I'm going there. With you. And I start to get sappy and want to leave right now.

I love you

We just got our tickets and itinerary for our trip to
St. Lucia at the Anse Chastanet Hotel. Oh, if only I could leave now!

I haven't written in a while but have started reading some more journals again recently so thought I would write this morning.

So, quickie update on my life...

We got third in track points at Charleston for the 2001 season and finished in the top 200 in the nation in UMP points.

Had a nice Thanksgiving in Storm Lake with Grandma. Considering it was the first holiday without Grandpa, things went fine.

I am hosting Christmas this year. It will be me, John, Mom and Dad, Rock and Charlotte, and Pete and his girlfriend Jen. Actually, Pete and Jen plan to be down late on Christmas eve and then leave the next morning. But it will be nice to have them.

Oh - yes, Pete has a girlfriend. They've been going out since... oh, maybe September? She's really nice, and pretty too. She has two cute little white dogs - yipper dogs though... but aren't all little dogs yipper dogs? Anyway, Pete practically lives over to her place in Warrenville and is quite the handyman over there. Her place is decorated very nicely and I'm jealous like a crazy person... But, we race and that's fun... Someday I'd like to decorate my house though.

I need to be more grateful for what I have.

Ooo- I almost posted this to Smith racing news. Good thing I just happened to look up there.

And the big news... Metris is closing the Champaign location. I will be out of a job on March 1, 2002. So far, I have a phone interview lined up with the U of I on December 18. Hope to get on there, for the benefits if nothing else. I'm worried about the low salaries over there though. I'd much rather be a consultant and make more money. But, haven't heard back from ASD. Oh well. The good news is that we have decided that we can "make it" on John's salary alone as long as I get my bonus and severence package on March 1 and we use that to pay off our credit card debt. So, we'll be okay. It will just suck.

We're still taking our fabulous vacation to St. Lucia and plan on planting the seed while there even if I don't have a job or hope for one. That part is scaring me. If I don't get a job prior to getting pregnant, I don't think I'll be very likely of finding a job after getting pregnant.

This weekend, we put up the Christmas lights on the house. We're the rebels - the only colored lights on the whole block. Everyone else has white lights. We're cool, man!

Well - that's it for now. More later... I'm going to try to update more often.
